If you’re visiting Sapporo this summer, there’s one outdoor experience you shouldn’t miss: the grand beer garden in Odori Park, now officially open until August 13. Set against the backdrop of Sapporo’s cityscape and fresh summer skies, this event is one of the largest beer gardens in Japan — and a beloved seasonal tradition for locals.
From blocks 5 to 8 and 10 to 11 of Odori Park in central Sapporo, around 10,000 seats await beer lovers from around the world. Japan’s four major breweries each host their own areas, joined by international beer brands, offering a variety of flavors and styles to suit any palate.
Even on rainy days, the fun doesn’t stop. This year, organizers have added more covered seating to help guests stay cool and dry. One local woman, enjoying the garden with friends, laughed, “Even with the rain, we had a great time thanks to the roofed seats — and of course, the beer!”
The beer garden is open daily from noon to 9 PM. Under the bright summer sun or the soft evening lights, nothing beats the refreshing taste of beer with friends. Raise your mugs and share a toast under the open sky — kanpai!
札幌・大通公園の夏のビアガーデンが始まりました！
この夏、札幌を訪れるなら、ぜひ体験してほしい屋外イベントがあります。それが、大通公園で開催中の壮大なビアガーデンです。8月13日まで公式にオープンしています。札幌の街並みとさわやかな夏の空を背景にしたこのイベントは、日本で最大級のビアガーデンの一つであり、地元の人々にとって大切な夏の風物詩です。
札幌中心部にある大通公園の5丁目から8丁目、そして10丁目から11丁目まで、約1万席がビール愛好家のために用意されています。日本の大手4社がそれぞれのエリアを持ち、国際的なビールブランドも加わり、あらゆる好みに合った多様な味とスタイルが楽しめます。
たとえ雨の日でも、楽しみは止まりません。今年は、主催者がより多くの屋根付き席を追加し、来場者が涼しく、そして濡れずに過ごせるよう配慮しています。友人とビアガーデンを訪れていた地元の女性は笑って言いました。「雨でも、屋根付きの席のおかげでとても楽しく過ごせました――もちろん、ビールも最高でした！」
ビアガーデンは毎日、正午から午後9時まで営業しています。明るい夏の太陽の下でも、やさしい夜の光の中でも、友人と飲むビールの爽快さに勝るものはありません。青空の下でジョッキを掲げて、乾杯しましょう――カンパイ！
